Last year, SCSD#3 enacted a policy on cell phone use, and the student council students helped to draft the new policy. Superintendent Chase Christensen
He said the policy had changed a little this for this school year.
Christensen added that, as Superintendent Stults said about SCSD#2, that there hasn’t been any student push-back at Arvada-Clearmont. “They just flat don’t deal with cellphones in class,” he said.
Because A/C school is smaller than the schools is SCSD#2, there is more interaction between the students anyway.
He said he saw value in the cell-free zones for the whole school, and wouldn’t be averse to that, but “We are in a good spot as it is right now.”
Christensen said that with the cell phones he sees two different things.
The cell phone policy is working at the school, “We’ve had students reported to teachers that they are learning better since the policy is in place.”
Cellphone usage at SCSD#1 will be posted later.
