Gillette Police Officer Arrested In Connection With Investigation In Utah

On December 2, 2024, the Gillette Police Department (GPD) was contacted by the Utah Department of Public Safety through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. GPD was notified of the investigation and pending warrant for former Utah police officer, Christopher Goree.

Upon receiving the warrant, GPD took Goree into custody and transported him to the Campbell County Detention Center.

Goree has been employed by GPD as a police officer since September 2024 and was still in his training period.

The Utah investigation of Goree began in August 2024. GPD was only made aware of the investigation on December 2, 2024.

GPD has placed Goree on administrative leave pending termination proceedings.

Goree is charged with four felonies, including three counts of Custodial Sexual Relations, Third Degree; Tampering with a Witness, Third Degree; and a Class B Misdemeanor, Knowing Intentional Access Disseminate CITS Division Record.
