The Wyoming Community Foundation was the first foundation of its kind in Wyoming and it has been granting funds to charitable causes and providing scholarships for much longer than many people realize.
Wyoming Community Foundation President Samin Dadelahi made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about the history and purpose of the WYCF. Dadelahi has worked within the WYCF for 20 years, serving in many different positions until finally being named president of the foundation in 2022.
For the past 35 years the Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) has connected people who care with causes that build a better Wyoming for everyone. In that time, the WYCF has granted more than $100 million to charitable causes while also providing a variety of support to the Cowboy State’s nonprofit agencies and funding scholarships.

The WYCF has divided the state into six different areas. Each area has a board of local community members who meet to discuss and decide where the funds are put to work in their area.
Part of building community with the WYCF since 1991, the Sheridan – Johnson County board supports charitable organizations through grants to local nonprofits ranging from the arts and human services to education and conservation.
In 2023, The Sheridan – Johnson local board made 20 grants totaling more than $155,000.
Other local boards include the Casper Area, Dubois and Crowheart, the Evanston Area, Sublette Area and Sweetwater Area.
