A resolution to vacate a 10-foot by 54-foot wide utility easement on lot three of the Huntington-Birch Addition, located at 1297 Birch Street was approved by the Sheridan City Council at their recent business meeting. City Planner Kelly Schroeder said the applicant, Austin Opitz, requested the easement vacation for the purpose of building a detached shop at the rear of the property.

Schroeder said Montana-Dakota Utilities Company confirmed that they have no facilities in the easement area and future use would not be required and that no other utility companies or members of the public stated concerns about the request to vacate the easement.
