Wyoming’s 4-year on-time High School graduation rates remained consistent last school year, while the rates for North-Central Wyoming High Schools had mixed results.
The Wyoming Department of Education reports the state graduation rate for the 2023-2024 school year was 81.6%, which is up from 81.4% in the previous school year.
It’s the 9th year in a row that the rate is at 80% or greater.
As far as individual high schools in North-Central Wyoming go, Sheridan High School’s rate dropped from 91.3% to 85.1%.
Numbers-wise, about 30 fewer students graduated in the 2023-24 school year, compared to the school year before.
Big Horn’s graduation rate increased from 81.8% to 93.5%, while Tongue River’s rate dropped from 93.5% to 78.9%.
Arvada-Clearmont’s rate was at 100% for the 4th year in a row.
Buffalo’s rate increased from 87.3% to 89% and Kaycee increased from 93.8% to 100%.
The Department says students are counted in the four-year, “on-time,” high school graduation rate, if they earn a diploma by September 15th, following their cohort’s fourth year, but this does not include homeschool transfer students.
