Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett gave an end-of-year report on the department to the city council at their last meeting.
Bissett reported that in 2024, dispatch received nearly 32,250 calls with officers responding to almost 7,500 incidents resulting in nearly 70 arrests which he said was rather high for Buffalo.
He highlighted one recent example of the types of calls they receive in the dispatch center.
Bissett said when people see or hear the numbers, these are also the types of calls handled by the dispatch team and responded to by officers and emergency personnel.
He added that he would put the level of training these people have up against any others in the state or in the country.
