Amie Holt Preparing for New DON

The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center had their regular meeting for January Wednesday night, and they were given updates on the Amie Holt Care Center.

Current Director of Nursing (DON) Brenda Gorm spoke about her replacement that will take over later this year.

Gorm added that she will take over in seven months and 28 days from the meeting.

She was asked about the status of the care center overall, and she said there are currently no issues with COVID, with residents and staff deemed as “healthy.”

Staffing is also in a good position.

Board member Tom Holt asked about the current census in the facility.

She added that they have three or four patients that could possibly be ready to move in soon, and also believe they could move their goal for residents up from 33 to 37 residents with their current staffing situation.
