An ordinance establishing proposed changes and amendments to the M-1 zoning district and the creation of a M-2 zoning district within the City of Sheridan was tabled by the Sheridan City Council at their October 21 business meeting. The ordinance was tabled to allow more time for public involvement. An open house was hosted by the City in December to give the public an opportunity to learn more about the history of the M1 zoning and proposed changes.
The City is once again looking at an ordinance that would amend the current M1 district to add heavy industrial uses to the list of uses requiring a Special Exemption by the Board of Adjustment, and adding a new M2 district that would allow for light and heavy industrial uses with no special exemption required. City Planner Kelly Schroeder.
The City Planning Commission at their meeting Monday night recommended approval of the ordinance to the City Council with several amendments to the ordinance. The City Council will consider first reading of Ordinance 2287, amending the M1 Industrial District and creating an M2 Heavy Industrial District at their regular business meeting this upcoming Monday night.
