Johnson County OK’s MOU with Church for Emergency Broadcasts

Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator James Cataline brought a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to the county commission for consideration concerning the broadcasting of emergency information on a local church’s radio station.

The county has been without a broadcast partner for emergency notifications since the local Buffalo commercial radio stations went dark over a year ago, and Cataline has been trying to find a solution since then.

He explained further.

The commission voted to approve the MOU and have the chairman sign the document, which will now go to Buffalo Baptist Church for their approval and a signature.
