WYDOT Buffalo Main Street Update for May 15

May 16, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has released the latest information on the Buffalo Main Street project as of May 15.

In the downtown corridor, paving of Main Street is expected to be completed by the end of day Friday, May 16.

Center lines will be tabbed for the time being with permanent pavement markings to be completed once the wearing course is paved at the end of August.

Parking on Main Street should be available by the end of day Friday.

A few punch list items need to be completed which will require minimal, intermittent lane and/or sidewalk closures.

From Fort Street to Trail Street, utility work will continue.

Be prepared for lane closures, head-to-head traffic, flagging operations, heavy traffic, and reduced speeds.

Residences and businesses along Main Street will be notified 48 hours prior to any water shut-downs.

Driveways and approaches in the work zone may be closed for a limited time during paving prep and asphalt placement.

Installation of the new traffic signals at the Hart Street/Main Street intersection continues. Watch for the 3-way stop, heavy traffic, and closed sidewalks.

From Hart Street north to Interstate 90 and the North/South Bypass Roads, contractors will begin grinding/leveling the roadway in preparation for paving of the wearing course. Watch for flagging operations.
