Johnson County’s Commissioners have voted to approve sending a letter supporting a previous “roadless collaborative” concerning the Bighorn National Forest.
Commission Chair Bill Novotny made the request of the commission.
Novotny was asked to give more details on the issue.
Novotny said that the letter is supporting what President Trump is trying to do by encouraging healthy forests and the timber industry, as well as fire resiliency, by resurrecting the work that was done by that collaborative to “get it across the finish line,” with what would be called a technical correction by the forest chief in Washington, D.C. who happens to be a graduate of the University of Wyoming.
