“We thought we were going to have a circularity problem with our vehicles, but it turns out we were able to get a little bit more room, so we’re going to be able to put some more vehicles, rolling stock here in Sheridan. We’ll also push some of those vehicles down to the Guernsey area for training purposes.”

In the past, vehicle work was done at a facility in Lovell, which is about 100-130 miles travel west of Sheridan, and was dependent on if US Highway 14A was open.

According to a media release, the Lovell facility will be discontinued and vehicles out of that area as well as from Worland and Casper, will have their vehicles serviced in Sheridan.

Colonel Ezell says the Sheridan facility is state of the art.

“This facility is really going to be able to service a wide area of our Army National Guard, and this is really one of the crown jewels. This is going to be one of the best, most technically advanced vehicle maintenance shops in the state.”

The budget for the new Sheridan Maintenance Shop cost about $17.9 million to build.
