Sheridan County’s Commissioners recently hosted a Public Hearing concerning the establishment of Penrose County Road, to collect comment from the public, as explained by Deputy County Attorney Clint Beaver, who acted as the Hearing Officer in the matter.
He detailed how the proceeding would go.
A number of speakers said they were in favor of the idea of creating the county road, but raised concerns and asked for stipulations if the road were to be approved.
Those included a low speed limit on the road, prohibit parking along the road, maintaining the road “as-is,” and allowing residents to maintain vegetation on the north side of the road while the county maintains the same on the south side of the road.
Representatives of the Wyoming Game & Fish Department also spoke, saying they were in favor of establishing Penrose County Road.
The public hearing was closed and no action was taken by the commission.
