The Johnson County School Board approved a number of Resolutions concerning the roughly $40 million budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26.
The first Resolution authorized the transfer of up to $375,000 in funds from the General Fund to the Depreciation Reserve Fund.
Next was the transfer of up to $400,000 from the General Fund to the Food Service Enterprise Fund.
A Resolution to transfer funds for uniform and reconditioning accounts was also approved.
These funds shall be used to establish and support uniform and reconditioning accounts for Buffalo High School, Kaycee K-12 School, and Clear Creek Middle School. A one-time seed amount of $50,000 in 2024-2025 will be distributed among the three schools to establish sufficient balances in each account for uniform and reconditioning needs. Thereafter, an annual allocation of $45,000 beginning in 2025-2026, will be provided to maintain each account.
A Resolution was approved to transfer funds from the General Fund to the Internal Services Fund, in an amount of $100,000 or an amount determined by the availability of budgeted funds to be used to cover employee-related costs such as leave buyouts, sick leave bank expenses, and to maintain reserves to offset future increases in employee benefit costs.
And finally, a Resolution authorizing the transfer of funds from the General Fund to Fund 80 to establish counseling accounts supporting student and parent services divided among the district’s six schools.
