Sundowner Lions Club members Jim Rapp, Eric Kulvinska, and Bill Rathburn made an appearance on Public Pulse to raise awareness of the club’s ongoing peach sale, which supports children’s vision care.
Like other Lions Club chapters across the country, the Sheridan Sundowner Lions work to provide vision screenings and access to medical care for children. Through early screenings, partnerships with hospitals and clinics, medicine distribution, and public education, the Lions aim to uphold their mission of “vision for all.”
For those who qualify, the Sundowner Lions also help provide eyeglasses for children and fund vision surgeries for adults in need.
A major part of their fundraising efforts includes the sale of 20-pound boxes of peaches for $40. According to Rathburn, pears will not be available this year due to a hailstorm that devastated the crop at Noland Orchards in Palisade, Colorado.
