A modification to a Patrol Agreement between the USFS and Johnson County for the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office to perform law enforcement patrols on the Bighorn National Forest was considered by the county commission during a recent meeting.
Jennifer Jackson explained the modified agreement in place on Sheriff Rod Odenbach, who was assisting with a search and rescue operation near Cloud Peak.
Jackson said the grant amount will pay the sheriff’s office $6,000 for the patrol efforts.
The reason for getting the agreement so late in the year was due to issues with the USFS, according to discussion.
The commission voted to approve and accept the grant modification.
