YMCA Fall Soccer Kicks Off Sept. 3

The Sheridan County YMCA is currently closed to the public for its annual deep clean and maintenance, but registration is still open for fall soccer.

The Y’s fall soccer program has no cap on the number of participants, and all children in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to register. Registration closes Aug. 22, with the season running Sept. 3–Oct. 8.

Executive Director Liz Cassiday said there are some changes this year.

Co-ed and other teams will hold practices and games on Mondays and Wednesdays. Kindergarten and first-grade teams play at the YMCA, while grades 2–8 play at Blacktooth Park — with some teams practicing at the YMCA fields across the street.

Coaches will set practice times between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Kindergarten and first-grade games are scheduled for 4:30, 5:20, and 6:10 p.m. Grades 2–8 have games at 5 and 6 p.m.
