TRMS Robotics Program Seeks Assistant Coach

September 2, 2025

News – Sheridan Media

Tongue River Middle School Robotics Team is starting a new year, and they are seeking a second assistant coach to help the students design and exhibit their robotics projects.

TRMS Science teacher Susie Fisher talked about the Robotics program at the Middle School.

Its a really great program, Fisher said. She said they are looking forward to having a large team this year, around 15 or 16 students.

Robotics at the middle school level has four parts, Fisher said. Students learn robotic design, and built the robot, and explain to the judges why they built it like they did, and every piece of code and what it does. The second part is a game board, and the robot has to perform several tasks on the board. She said the third part involves research as well.

Due to the fact that Fisher expects that they will have a large team this year, she explained what they are hoping to find in a second assistance coach for the team.

She added that those interested must apply at the SCSD#1 website, https://www.applitrack.com/sheridanwy/onlineapp/. The season starts on September 22, so they hope to find someone soon. Any questions can be sent to Susie Fisher, email at <sfisher@sheridan.k12.wy.us>
