News – Sheridan Media
Eric Kulvinskas from the Mane Event Gravel Grinder and Sundowner Lions members Gail Vanderpoel and Bill Rathburn joined Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about the endurance event beginning Sept. 20 at the Koltiska Pumpkin Patch.
This year, an active group of riders has stepped up to assist the Sundowner Lions Club with organizing and planning the growing event.
Kulvinskas said the task has been one that he and his partners have enjoyed.

The Mane Event Gravel Grinder now gives riders a choice of 25, 54, or 78-mile courses traversed primarily on gravel roads.
A fully supported race, participants will find aid stations with water, electrolytes, first aid, and snacks every 12 to 15 miles, along with a sweeper vehicle to ensure riders are cared for and able to focus on the ride and the scenery.
The Mane Event Gravel Grinder also serves as a fundraiser for the Sheridan Sundowner Lions Club, which supports vision screenings, equips hospitals and clinics, distributes medicine, and raises awareness of eye disease. Kulvinskas said riders enjoy the routes and the challenge while always keeping the cause in mind.
