A project to revise the Sheridan County Community Wildfire Protection Plan will soon have a consultant after the county commission approved negotiations with one consultant company, based on their proposal.
According to County Administrative Director Cameron Duff, the revision of the plan is part of $132,000 in funding from the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments, Forestry Division for which a portion was to be used for the revision.
The county received two proposals from Y2 Consultants and SWCA Environmental Consultants.
County Fire Warden Chris Thomas spoke on the two proposals, giving his recommendation.
Duff further explained that the commission was not awarding a contract for the consulting services, but approving negotiations to reach an agreement with them for the commission to consider in a future meeting.
The commission voted to approve negotiations with SWCA Environmental Consultants.
