Sheridan College To Purchase Land To Extend Agripark Property

News – Sheridan Media

With the recent growth of the Sheridan College rodeo team, the Agripark land area has suddenly become full and is running out of space, but not for long.

At this past Tuesday’s College Board of Trustees meeting (September 16th), the board approved a purchase of 47 acres of land adjacent to the current Agripark location.

For $2.1 million, the Agripark property will expand 36 acres to the west and 11 acres to the east.

The College recently installed 40 new horse stalls for the team to use and College President Dr. Walter Tribley says while the purchase will give rodeo livestock more room to roam and graze, there are other reasons behind the land purchase.

“We could use it as a teaching space. We can use it for many purposes. It’s not dedicated to the rodeo team. That being said, it is a place for the district to put physical assets in a different form, that could be used later as land sales or swaps etc…”

Dr. Tribley adds the College is expected to close on the land sale within 60 days.

Sheridan College is scheduled to host the Pat Hamilton Memorial Rodeo at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds next week Friday thru Sunday, September 26th through the 28th.
