The City of Sheridan will apply for a loan for the Landfill Cell 9 Closure Project following the City Council’s recent approval of a resolution authorizing the submission of a Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan application in the amount of $4 million for the project. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts, at this week’s City Council meeting, said Cell 9 is near its permitted capacity and when it reaches capacity, closure of the cell is necessary. Roberts added that securing the funding to move forward with design completion and closure construction is necessary at this time.
Roberts said the Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan program is the funding mechanism staff identified as the most fiscally responsible way to finance the Cell 9 Closure Project.
