Sheridan Commission OK’s NOI to Repeal Property Tax Deferral

A Notice of Intent (NOI) to Repeal Rules and Regulations Governing the Property Tax Deferral Program was considered by the Sheridan County Commission.

Deputy County Attorney Clint Beaver detailed the reason for considering the change.

Beaversaid the NOI will set a period for public comment and a possible public hearing before the commission has a potential date of action at their first meeting in December.

Dusty Bates made a comment on the issue, saying he hoped the commission would keep the program in place to benefit the public, which could possibly be used more if it was advertised better.

Commissioner Nick Siddle explained that no decision was being made to repeal the program, just to publish the county’s intent to possibly do so.

The commission voted to approve publishing the Notice of Intent.
