Skyline Singers to Sing of the Mountain West

Sheridan College Director of Choirs and Vocal Studies Dr. Robert Psurny appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss an upcoming performance by the Skyline Singers.

The Skyline Singers is Sheridan College’s professional chamber choir in residence. Made up of choir and vocal educators from around the region, the accomplished group will perform a concert of Wyoming and Montana-themed a cappella choral music 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Kinnison Hall in the Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College.

The concert will feature state songs, western-themed works, and sacred and secular pieces by regional composers, including four world premieres. Works by Anne Guzzo, Lynn Petersen, and Paul Jernberg will be performed, along with new compositions from Montana artists and Sheridan College Director of Bands and Jazz Studies Dr. Eric Richards.

The concert is directed by Psurny, who will also debut his own composition, Three Soduku, a melding of mathematics and music.
