The Clearmont Town Council met on Monday, October 20, with a light agenda.

Mayor Chris Schock reported on the WAM (Wyoming Association of Municipalities) Board meeting. The main thing Schock said the board approved money to appoint a traveling clerk, Schock said it was similar to a traveling nurse.

Schock also announced several upcoming Clearmont events, including the Rec. District Trunk or Treat on Halloween, and the fact that town hall will be open for trick or treat as well. The Clearmont Shop Hop will be Nov. 7 & 8, from 10 to 4 on both days. The Cleamont Women’s Club will serve lunch at the Clearmont Church.

The council agreed to charge $200 lot rent for the mobile home space that the town owns. Schock said there was a party interested in renting the space.

The continuation of the oil collection agreement between the town and Sheridan County Conservation District was approved by the council.

The council discussed adding solar powered speed limit signs. Mayor Schock passed around an advertisement for the signs.

Maintenance Man Pete Bassett felt that they should check around and maybe look into flashing speed limit signs instead signs with a steady light showing the speed limit.

Councilman Greg Rohrer had this comment.

Bassett also reported that the new trash cans are set up around town, and he wanted to make sure the citizens were aware that they are responsible for the trash cans on their property.

One resident send the council a thank you card for the new trash cans.

Next meeting will be November 17 at 6 p.m. at town hall.
