A Sheridan woman was sentenced to prison at a hearing Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Prior to sentencing, 38-year-old Treva Adams admitted to violating the terms and conditions of her bond on two separate occasions. On September 17, Adams tested positive for methamphetamine following a drug test at the Sheridan County Justice Office. The second bond violation occurred on October 8 in Washakie County when Adams was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Due to the admission of the bond violations, District Court Judge Darci Phillips ruled to forfeit the $7,500 bond that was posted for Adams release from jail.
Judge Phillips then sentenced Adams to 4 to 5 years in prison for each of two charges; felony endangering children for knowingly being in possession of methamphetamine with a child present, and felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The sentences will run concurrent to one another. Adams was ordered to pay $575 in court costs and assessments and was given credit for 70 days of time served of presentence confinement.
