News – Sheridan Media

We reported in a previous story that the Sheridan Community Land Trust uses a portion of the General Purpose Excise Tax funds awarded to them by the City of Sheridan for maintenance of the Green Room Trail and Soldier Ridge Trail System. Now, we’ll hear other ways those funds are utilized by the Land Trust. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Sheridan Community Land Trust received $25,000 in GPET funds from the City for the current fiscal year that began on July 1. Land Trust Executive Director Brad Bauer says the allocation of GPET funds allows them to continue their work on conservation easements.
Bauer said there is also a lot of work in history that the GPET funds are helping support.
Bauer said that beyond the GPET agreement, since July 1 of 2024 they’ve hosted 110 events with over 3,500 people in attendance. More information on the Sheridan Community Land Trust can be found here.
