News – Sheridan Media

Since 2023, the City of Sheridan has utilized the Everbridge Mobile App to alert the public of the odd-even parking needed to clear snow more efficiently and effectively during the winter season.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan City Councilor Terry Weitzel urged the public to download the application to their phone as it alerts the public to more than just the odd-even parking practice.

Weitzel said it’s only been two years since the odd-even practice was enacted. But the City is making efforts to inform the public of the Everbridge app and the parking practice.

After an extremely harsh winter season, City of Sheridan Streets Superintendent Mike Kuzara approached the City Council, saying the amount of snow Sheridan received was nearly twice as much as a typical winter season. That season city employees missed family events to serve the community ensuring roads were clear for traffic.

This prompted city leadership to propose an ordinance that would allow the city to implement odd-even parking to clear snow more efficiently and effectively during the winter. The plan for snow removal was adopted by the council.

The City of Sheridan chose to utilize the Everbridge Mobile App to alert the public of odd-even parking to clear snow more efficiently and effectively during the winter season.
