Tonight, December 7, is the last night for this year’s Holiday open house at the Kendrick Mansion. The annual event drew a good crowd on Friday, December 5.
The mansion is festively decorated from the front lobby up to the third-floor ballroom. There was live music to enjoy by Sam Hoffman and Susannah Huff, as well as John Cox and David Haile and Scott Gall.

Site Superintendent Sharie Shada, talked about this year’s event.

Father Christmas heard wishes and passed out the traditional sleigh bells. He added about that tradition and his reindeer.
He said that the bells come from the reindeer harnesses and each year he assigns that job to his helpers.

There was also figgy pudding and hot cider in the kitchen, and holiday decorations throughout the Mansion.

Jeanette Mooney was helping serve the refreshments.
She added that she helps out wherever she is needed, including school tours, helping with the decorations, as well being the director of the handbell choir, which will be playing this evening. Tonight, the handbell choir will begin their performances at 4:00 and continue through 7:00.
Mindy Todd has been coming to the open house with her children for many years,

Admission is four dollars for adults. Children are admitted at no charge but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Tickets are NOT required in advance.
