Sheridan Commission Discharges Uncollectable Debts

Sheridan County’s Commissioners considered a request from County Treasurer Katie Araas to approve the discharge of uncollectable debts to the county.

She explained further.

According to a Memorandum from Araas to the commission, all personal property taxes not collected within ten years from the time they were levied shall be canceled and thereafter uncollectable, per state statute.

The commission voted to approve the request to discharge the uncollectable taxes.
