Sheridan Advocacy and Resource Center Executive Director Yvonne Swanson and Assistant Director Rhonda Weber appeared on Public Pulse to share with the public the services offered by the center.
The most common cases advocates respond to involve intimate partner violence and other forms of domestic violence. But Weber said the center’s work involves any case of violence from one person to another.

Advocates work with clients according to the clients wishes. Barring requirements set by state statute, Swanson said no victim of any violent crime will be forced to make any hard decisions they do not wish to make. Advocates are trained to support the client’s decisions and work with them to find the best solution.
Advocates will also support the client to the conclusion of the case even if that takes years to complete.
