Early completion of the Lake DeSmet project has been assured by Verner Z. Reed, a Denver capitalist.

The project will put at least 50,000 more acres of land in the Sheridan country under irrigation. Mr. Reed is the owner of several thousand acres of land south of Sheridan.

A contract for grading right-of-way from Dow Street to the site of the new sugar beet factory was let yesterday by the Burlington for a railroad spur to the factory site. The contract is to the Watt Brothers of Upton. They will begin work Monday with an outfit of 25 teams and about 40 men.

Mrs. Marion Terry went to Clearmont today.

Broadway star Helen Gardener stars in “Underneath the Paint” today at the Pastime theater.
