Sheridan Community Land Trust will be celebrating 20 years of conservation, recreation and education in February.

SCLT Executive Director Brad Bauer and Marketing and Development contractor Chris Vrba are inviting the community to the Wyoming premier of the Fly Fishing Film Tour, which along with stoking the fire for adventure, allows patrons to take part in a raffle for gear, fishing trips and more, while also raising funds that allow SCLT to continue their mission.

Bauer said the programs that have expanded over years all work to fulfill SCLT’s core mission.

The film tour, which has sold out the past two years, is hosted by the Fly Shop of the Bighorns and will be held at the WYO Theater. Proceeds benefit SCLT and will fund spring and summer projects along Big Goose Creek, including willow planting, bank stabilization and volunteer-powered improvements that build on a stretch of creek opened to public fishing and floating in 2024. Last year’s event raised nearly $10,000 to begin that restoration work.

The event begins at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m., bringing together anglers, outdoor enthusiasts and conservation-minded community members for an evening of films and fundraising.

Raffle prizes donated by local businesses include a high-alpine guided overnight fly-fishing adventure with Spear-O-Wigwam, a mountain bike from Sheridan Bicycle Company and gear from Rocky Mountain Discount Sports, The Sport Stop, EPOCH Collection and Bighorn Trout Shop.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the show and are available at the Fly Shop of the Bighorns or online through the WYO Theater by clicking here.

All proceeds will support continued access, education and restoration at the Big Goose Natural Area.
