Judge W.S. Metz has the distinction of planting the first sugar beets in the Sheridan district.

A carload of sugar beet seed was received by the Sheridan Sugar company yesterday afternoon. Shortly before noon today, Judge Metz motored out to his ranch on Little Goose, and started the work of planting.

Mick Riche has filed suit in district court in Sheridan to recover $355.85 from the Burlington railroad. Mr. Riche claims that’s the value of baggage that he lost in the fire that destroyed the Clearmont depot several months ago.

The Taylor-Custer Parent Teachers Association will meet Friday afternoon at the Custer school house.
