Residents who want to participate in upcoming local and statewide elections can register to vote through the Sheridan County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, which oversees elections and voter registration for the county.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Commissioners Lonnie Wright and Nick Siddle said filing to run is an easy process.

According to the county, eligible voters must be U.S. citizens, Wyoming residents and at least 18 years old by Election Day. Voters must also be residents of the precinct where they are registering and provide acceptable identification and proof of residency when completing the registration process.

Voter registration services are available in person at the clerk’s office, and voters can also update their address, name or party affiliation if their information has changed. The county’s elections webpages provide additional resources, including registration forms, polling place information and absentee voting details.

The commissioners encourage residents to verify their registration status well ahead of election deadlines to avoid last-minute issues.
