The 2026 Election will be as important to Wyoming as the 2024 Election was for our
America. We are seeing more and more the negative effects of “keeping the status quo” in
both Sheridan County and the State of Wyoming. There is an epidemic of politicians who
claim to be Republicans, yet consistently vote in favor of big government, higher taxes,
“clean” energy, and increased spending.
We have the opportunity as a community, and as a state, to shift the tide of our great
state back to the true conservative values that are our very foundation. I moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 2019 with my beautiful wife Christine, and two of our three grown children, Megan and Austin. After living in many states due to career demands, we were finally able to go where we wanted: to a state that reflected the core values of faith in God, family, and freedom that we believe in. A true Constitutional Conservative Republican and Patriot, I served in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm. After completing my enlistment, I chose to serve my community as a Police Officer in Norfolk, Va., where I served in several divisions, including the Detective Bureau.
I then had the opportunity to serve our Nation once again as a Federal Background Investigator, performing investigations to determine suitability for TS/SCI National Security Clearances. Upon moving to Sheridan, I worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Department of
Commerce, Census Division; WYDOT, as a Driver License Examiner; and the Sheridan
County Clerk’s Elections Office, as the Election Supervisor for 2023 and 2024. Currently, I
am “semi-retired” and serving as the Chairman of the Sheridan County Republican Party.
We came here to build a life based on Wyoming values, Conservative values. But I
see that slipping away from the Wyoming people. We all must continue to fight for what is
morally right, or we will lose what makes Wyoming great. I stand for Pro-Life, the 2nd
Amendment, fiscal responsibility, and our coal and minerals industry. For these reasons, I would like to humbly announce my candidacy for the Wyoming House of Representatives, House District 29. I would be both honored and proud to serve the voters of HD 29 in Cheyenne. In closing, let me leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
“Discernment is not a matter of simply knowing the difference between right and
wrong; rather, it is knowing the difference between what is right and what is almost
right”
Charles Spurgeon
Join me in knowing the difference between right and almost right.
Respectfully,
James Temple
Republican Candidate for House District 29
