Families in Sheridan are invited to explore the outdoors during “Unplug: Herons at Home,” a free educational program hosted by Science Kids and the Sheridan Community Land Trust.
The program will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, with participants meeting at Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Led by ecologist Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids, the event will introduce attendees to herons and their role in Wyoming’s ecosystems. Participants will have the opportunity to observe the birds as they prepare their rookery and learn about their behavior and habitat.
Organizers say the program is designed for all ages and encourages outdoor exploration and hands-on learning.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring binoculars if available, although a limited number will be provided.
Unplug is a collaborative program between Science Kids and the Sheridan Community Land Trust and offers free outdoor education experiences for participants of all ages.
