The SCSD#3 Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, April 8, and a large crowd attended the meeting.
One visitor, Misty Moore, had a two-part comment. First, she spoke to the board about the student’s trip to Washington, DC. and New York City, saying it was an ‘incredible trip.’
She added that she felt the board had a difficult job to do, and urged them to ‘hold the line,’

She said her priority for the board was to follow their leader, and support Superintendent Chase Christensen. “I have seen him provide so much support for the students and our teachers.” she said.
Tylynn Smith, Ella Stoll and Isaac Andreen, leaders of House Indomitus gave a brief program to the board and talked about what they are doing in the school and in community, including their food drive.

In other business, the board approved to advertise for propane bids which is to include a price to pre-buy 60,000 gallons, including propane for the Clear Creek Recreation District.
The bid to also include a “Not To Exceed Price” for every gallon over 60,000 used between the dates of July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027 for the upcoming season.
The new funding model from the state can present a challenge when purchasing propane, Christensen said.
The board approved a board member Sam Olson to be an alternate representative to the Clear Creek Recreation District, and approved to advertise for a Junior High head boys basketball coach.
Although the board was asked to approve the life skills committee recommendation to utilize the 7 Habits book study for life skills curriculum for the 2026–2027 school year and to approve a contract with Franklin Covey Education for the 7 Habits training for staff, the recommendation died for lack of a motion.
Next meeting will be May 13 at 6 p.m. in the board room at the school.
