Sheridan/Johnson County Unemployment Rates Decrease In February 2026

Wyoming’s unemployment rate for February did not change from January, while Sheridan and Johnson County’s rates dropped to near where they were last year.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2026 was at 3.6%, which is unchanged from the month before, but up from 3.2% in February of 2025.

The US Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2026 was at 4.4%, which is up from 4.3% in January, and up from 4.2% in February 2025.

Sheridan and Johnson County’s unemployment rates both dropped from 4.2% in January to 3.9% in February.

For Sheridan County, that rate is where it was in February of last year, while Johnson County’s last year rate was at 3.6%.

The lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming for February was in Teton County at 2.8%, while the highest rate was in Big Horn County at 5.7%.

Non-farm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 900 jobs from February 2025 to February 2026.
