Today, I am announcing my candidacy for Sheridan County Clerk in the 2026 Republican
Primary.

After more than sixteen years without one, it is time for Sheridan County voters to have a choice. I am running to restore professionalism, accountability, and trust to the Clerk’s Office.
Beginning in 2023, as conflicts with the Board of County Commissioners intensified, audit
results declined significantly. The past three consecutive audits have identified repeated material weaknesses and significant deficiencies involving internal controls, financial reporting, reconciliations, and timeliness.

During this same period, the county paid $58,532.14 in legal expenses with the result being a
memorandum of understanding that gave more responsibilities to the Clerk’s office. Now, even
though the result of using our county’s taxpayer dollars last resulted in a measurable drop in
performance, the current County Clerk is requesting authorization to hire special counsel to do it again. I am not a career politician or government employee, I got my start with the county in 2024 with the Clerk’s Office, and I accepted an offer to move to the Assessor’s Office in 2025. I have now resigned from that role to ensure I would have no conflicts while seeking this office.

Coming from a career of private sector blue collar work, the inefficiencies in the functions of
government are painful. I will bring focused and results-driven leadership to the Clerk’s Office.
My priorities are straightforward: clean audits, clear boundaries between the Clerk and the
Commissioners, and competent, professional public service without constant conflict and
controversy.

Sheridan is my home. It is where I’ve spent most my life and where I have chosen to raise my children. Being a fellow taxpayer in the county I would like to promise each of you one thing: If I am fortunate to earn your support, I will NEVER waste a penny of your tax dollars fighting to stack more work on the hard-working employees of the Clerk’s Office. Especially not to arbitrarily move it from one umbrella of county government to another.

I look forward to earning your support on August 18, 2026.
