JCSD1 Superintendent Charles Auzqui gave an update to the school board on the district’s request to restructure the board at their last regular meeting.
Auzqui gave details on the decision by the Wyoming State Board of Education.
The Board of Education met May 7 and approved JCSD1’s request to move from a 9-member Board to a 7-member Board.
According to information in the JCSD1 agenda for their meeting, this marks a historic first for the Wyoming State Board and represents groundbreaking work that will help guide other districts in the future.
Auzqui thanked the JCSD1 Board of Trustees for their commitment and willingness to navigate a new process, focused on the future of the District and community.
