The Brinton Museum Curatorial Assistant Kristy Bruce made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse informing the public of upcoming public events at the museum.
Located on the grounds of The Historic Quarter Circle A Ranch, The Brinton Museum is welcoming the public to the many exhibits housed in the Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Building with free admission.
On June 11, an oral history symposium will be presented in conjunction with The Unfinished War: The Battle of the Little Bighorn in Native American Art, the current exhibition showing at the Brinton until Sept. 14.
According to The Brinton, this roundtable will bring together tribal members to share personal and ancestral connections to the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Through lived memory, oral tradition, and community knowledge, speakers will offer perspectives that deepen understanding of the histories represented in the exhibition.
The following day beginning at 10 a.m. on June 12 and led by Wallace Bearchum (Northern Cheyenne), The Brinton will hold its annual tipi raising. This annual event offers a hands-on opportunity to learn about the structure, purpose, and cultural significance of the tipi. The public is invited to observe or jump in and lend a hand.
