Details of a special events policy for the City of Sheridan was an item of discussion at this week’s City Council study session. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The City currently reviews special event permit applications through a combination of established practices, departmental coordination, and staff experience. As events continue to increase in number and complexity, staff identified a need to formally document these procedures to provide consistent expectations for applicants and a standardized review process for staff. City Clerk Ashlee Foster.
Foster said the policy is designed to be a situation by situation, event by event type of policy.
Foster said that if approved by the Council, staff will update permit materials and implement the policy as part of the City’s overall special event permitting process. The City Council is expected to consider the special permit policy at their regular business meeting, Monday, July 6.
