Buffalo’s City Council has had discussions with Itinerant business owners over the scale of permit fees to operate within the City of Buffalo, and has considered adopting a new fee schedule to make them more affordable.

At the city council’s last meeting, a number of vendors were in attendance to ask what they council had done to set new fees.

Mayor Shane Schrader spoke to the vendors, saying they would soon have a new Ordinance to show them.

Vice-mayor Myra Camino explained that any vendor that purchases a permit at the higher rate, which is required to operate in the city, before the council can adopt the new fee schedule, will be eligible to apply for a refund of the difference in permit rates once the new fee schedule is adopted by the council.

Councilman Scott Madsen explained there would be a tiered fee schedule.

Madsen said the four fee schedules would be appropriate to each type of permit, so not everyone will pay the same permit fee.

The council will have the first reading of the Ordinance at their July 7 meeting.
