Memorial Day will be observed Monday with fitting ceremonies in Sheridan, under direction of the John Schuler Post 67 of the Grand Army of the Republic.
A procession will form at 9 o’clock at City Hall, and will start for the cemetery promptly at 9:30. The Grand Army has asked owners of automobiles to kindly place their cars at the disposal of the post and the Woman’s Relief Corps to make the trip to the cemetery.
Judge C.H. Parmalee of Sheridan has granted four widows’ pensions under provisions of a law passed by the recent legislature. The law provides that widows, or wives who have been deserted by their husbands for more than a year, and who have children under the age of 14 may petition the court for state pensions.
