The annual Big Horn Lions Club (BHLC) Bill Rohrbaugh Memorial Golf Tournament at the Powder Horn is their main source of funding for all of their gifts to local organizations.
In fiscal year 2025, they provided over $31,000 in support of numerous causes.
They provided over $18,000 to educational efforts including scholarships for high school graduates; funding for school programs to send students to national competitions; supporting the Wyoming Girls School with funds to purchase Christmas presents for girls who could not go home for the holidays; local athletic events; and the Kids Fishing Day for kids ages kindergarten through 3rd grade.
In addition, the BHLC gives over $11,000 to support vision services to persons in the community, paying for vision screenings, eye surgery, and training for service dogs for the blind.
Other organizations benefiting from their funds are the Mt. Hope Cemetery to maintenance and the Big Horn Women’s Club.
Ed Hawkinson, while a recent guest on Public Pulse, said the golf tournament is a fun way to raise needed funds for the Big Horn Community.
