Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on June 11, 1915.
A historic document from Sheridan’s past is on display in the window of the Cox Art Shop. The document is a petition circulated by the late Henry A. Coffeen to then-Wyoming Governor Thomas Moonlight asking for the creation of a separate county, to be known as Sheridan County, from northern Johnson County. The petition bears the signature of 378 of the county’s early settlers.
Sheridan’s Elks Lodge will observe Flag Day in ceremonies at 8 o’clock Monday at the Elks home here.
Home-made sugar-cured bacon, extra fine, is just 20 cents a pound at the City Meat Market. Also, home-rendered Lily White lard is just $1.40 for a 10-pound pail.
