June 18, 2015

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on June 18, 1915.

George T. Beck, formerly of Sheridan County and one of the most prominent men in the northern part of Wyoming in business and politics, is in Sheridan today from his home in Cody. Mr. Beck located on Big Goose 10 miles west of Sheridan in 1879 and built the first flouring mill in Wyoming, at Beckton. He was the first democratic candidate for congress in the state.

Also visiting in Sheridan today are C.B. West and daughter, and J.H. Booz, all of Parkman, and F.M. Whitten of Arvada.

Mrs. H.C. Walter underwent an operation this morning, at the state hospital here in Sheridan.
