COVID-19 vaccine mandates were a topic of discussion at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting.. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Council Receives Update on Federal Vaccine Mandate

City of Sheridan Human Resources Director Heather Doke updated the Council and Mayor Rich Bridger Monday night on the vaccine mandate for employers with over 100 employees to require their workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Doke said the City has a couple of different options to put them in compliance with the mandate.

Councilman Clint Beaver asked Doke about a policy that would need to be drafted as part of the mandate.

Doke said the City currently has around 180 employees and that number grows to over 200 in the summer with seasonal hires. City Attorney Brendon Kerns talked about the legislation that came out of the recent special session of the Wyoming Legislature.

On Friday, a U.S. appeals court upheld its decision to put on hold the federal vaccine mandate for companies with 100 or more employees to require their workers to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
