Acting Buffalo Police Chief Captain Garth Nicholas, in his recent report to the city council, said he is currently working on sending out Advertising for Bids for the building of the new patrol vehicle, which will be paid for with 1% funds.
Nicholas said he is also still advertising for positions to be filled in the dispatch center.
He is working with the chamber of commerce concerning parking on Main Street during the annual Lighted Christmas Parade.
Finally, he reported that he is talking with City Attorney Ben Kirven about the possibility of separating the Christmas Parade and the fireworks display to different weekends to alleviate congestion and other issues downtown by having both events the same night.
The events will be happening on Saturday, December 4th this year, but talks are continuing to make the changes for next year.
